Burungnesia 3.0 – A Tool for Birdwatchers
Burungnesia 3.0 is a mobile application that serves as a tool for birdwatchers to collect, store, and manage field data. Developed by sikebo, this app aims to strengthen the public/amateur-based bird conservation and scientific movement.
The app features a photographic identification guide that includes more than 200 bird species and over 450 photos, with more being added regularly. It also allows for easy recording of bird species and automatically geo-tags observations. Users can export field data in .csv format for further use.
To use the app, simply download it, request to join, and log in with the provided username and password. Then, create a checklist based on the observation location and ensure that GPS is enabled on your phone. It’s important to note that the app can work offline, but it needs to be opened online at least once to download important data before going offline.
Overall, Burungnesia 3.0 is a helpful tool for birdwatchers who want to contribute to bird conservation and scientific research in Indonesia. The app is 100% funded by the Gusti Allah Foundation through the efforts of the Birdpacker team and the prayers of birdwatchers in Indonesia.
