A city-building strategy game set in an oceanic world
Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is a strategy game set in the world of The Great Ursee—a world designed by a BAFTA-nominated developer. The game is a city-builder where the player must manage resources and build fortress settlements.
While the game as a whole can be likened to any number of other city-building games — such as Civilization IV, the tone and style of the game world can be compared to Bioshock Infinite, thanks to the almost steampunk nature of the technology used.
Build and bulwark to defend your people
The game takes place in a world that is reeling from a cataclysmic war in an oceanic world. The player will take control of various settlements, building them up and fortifying them to protect the citizens within from attack. The game is set in the Falconeer universe but does not require previous experience with the franchise.
Build on jagged rocks
Perhaps the main quirk of Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles compared to other city builders is that the building system is designed to allow players to easily construct their bulwarks on the small, jagged rock islands that make up most of the terrain in the game. Players will be building on steep cliffs and narrow rock peaks, and creativity will be needed to make things work.
A unique city builder
The uncommon building style of Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles makes it quite a unique experience among city-building games, especially when combined with the rich world that it is set in. That being said, while the developers are keen to point out the game is set in the Falconeer world, it does not require previous knowledge of the franchise to enjoy.
