A free indie puzzle platforming game
Body Maze Puzzle is a free indie physics game. You play on a 2D plane while using 2.5D characters. Make your way up the platform in this puzzle app while trying to avoid dangers and enemy characters.
The buzz saw dangers and traps a very similar to Super Meat Boy, and the floppy physics are similar to the Surgeon Simulator series and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds. Your hands or your feet (or sometimes both) will stick to walls. You can use this ability to swing up and down the platform areas.
Not a traditional platforming game
You do have to work your way up platforms in this puzzle platforming game. The aim of the game is to navigate the puzzles by figuring out where to go, which button to press, which flip to switch, and where the danger is coming from. The wonky physics makes simple tasks a lot more difficult.
Attach yourself to walls
To move upwards, you have to find a way to swing or somehow lever your way up. This means avoiding other platform parts, enemies, and hazards. There is often a very obvious solution to the puzzle and often a different route where you can skill-swing your way to success.
Smarter than it appears
This looks like another throwaway indie game because of the very basic graphics, but its puzzles are cleverly thought out, and the game’s execution isn’t bad. The swing premise is also pretty original, as it forces you to connect the character’s hands or hands/feet to the walls.
Needs far better graphics
The models and assets for this game are clearly lifted from other libraries. As a result, the different parts of the game do not fit together under a single style. It is an ugly-looking game with inconsistent graphics, which is a shame because it is a decent casual puzzle game otherwise.
