BlueTooth Serial Controller – Wireless Serial Communication for Robotics
BlueTooth Serial Controller, developed by NEXT PROTOTYPES, is a free Android application that allows wireless serial communication with AVR, PIC, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other devices via Bluetooth SPP. This app is not designed as a game controller, but for robotics. The program provides the ability to set up to five different configurations by selecting the controller (A-E) and freely customizing the name of the button, command, visibility, and repetition. It also offers a terminal mode, where communication logs can be saved and copied. By enabling [PREFERENCE – OPTION – CONTROLLER+TERMINAL], users can view sent and received data.
Furthermore, the app allows users to backup the value of the controller. The storage location is displayed when saving, and the data is saved in the “Controller Backup” folder, which is common to all controller apps. However, the data type is “CSV,” so if the name or command contains a comma, the data may not be read completely.
Note that the app requires permissions for backup, including WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, as well as permissions for advertising, such as INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE. Overall, BlueTooth Serial Controller is a useful app for those who need wireless serial communication for their robotics projects.
