3D platforming game for PC

Blazing Dynamo (prototype) is a free action video game for PC that was made by an indie developer who goes by the name rittz. It is a 3D platform game that has players doing various aerial maneuvers and tricks while keeping off the ground for as long as possible.

Blazing Dynamo (prototype) draws inspiration from games like A Hat in Time or Crash Bandicoot for its game design and gameplay mechanics. It does put its own twist into it with the inclusion of a grappling hook that adds another level of verticality while traversing each of its levels.

What is Blazing Dynamo (prototype) all about?

In Blazing Dynamo (prototype), you play as Bucket, and you are tasked with collecting 5 batteries which you will need to open up a portal at the top of each level. They are scattered all throughout the map, and you will need to traverse around to find them. You have a grappling hook to help you with more difficult-to-reach platforms, though. Beware of enemies that you’ll need to fight and defeat, as well.

To add to the challenge, the game also encourages you to be creative with your aerial maneuvers, keeping to the air as long as you can. This will help fill up your HEAT gauge that lets you perform BLAZE moves. You can find a moveset list in-game for your reference and experiment with. It can be played with a keyboard and mouse combo, and features a rather complex control scheme for you to learn.

As its name suggests, Blazing Dynamo is a prototype and is in the early stages of development. As such, expect a few bugs and glitches to pop up here and there while they are still being worked at. Also, there is only one complete level that you can play through as of this writing, which serves more as an introductory demo to teach players how its gameplay works.

A promising platformer

All in all, if its first level is anything to go by, Blazing Dynamo (prototype) is a promising platformer worth looking out for when it finally releases. The platforming mechanics are solid for an early-level game showcase and the sense of verticality that it provides with aerial traversal is quite fun to experience. This one’s worth checking out if you like 3D platforming games.
