Single-player FPS survival/combat game
BLACKTAIL is a first-person shooting platform that follows the exploits of a young girl who was accused of witchcraft. Banned from her village, she must venture into the unknown and fight with strange demons if she hopes to unravel a long-forgotten past.
Many curators have compared BLACKTAIL to other fantasy-based games, such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While this is indeed an FPS, it also involves a highly detailed storyline and a strong exploration. Therefore, it can be just as easily termed a role-playing game.
A unique form of combat
While other first-person shooting games employ weapons, such as guns or swords, the character is only equipped with a bow and arrow that can be upgraded on occasion. This provides a decidedly hands-on feel to the combat itself. Note that it is also possible to craft additional items, such as arrowheads and potions.
A morality-driven story
BLACKTAIL is a narrative-based game, and the overall plot will be determined by the actions of the player. While determining the fate of other NPCs encountered along the way, the impact of various decisions can be seen in terms of how the world evolves.
Unique player upgrades
Many of the power-ups that players will use come in the form of spells and potions. Therefore, BLACKTAIL provides a sense of magic to the overall gameplay. These enhancements are required when tracking down spirits, haunting the woodland, or battling formidable level bosses.
A rather dark and brooding fairy tale
This game is partially based on a mythical Slavic entity named Baba Yaga (roughly translated into the Boogeyman). Offering intense elements of combat like God of War with a mysterious and intriguing backstory, BLACKTAIL is suited for players who enjoy action-paced role-playing games.
