The Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (DFFCC) has been the single-most important player in implementing the Mission 2.51 crore Plantation Campaign in Bihar. As the Department, we work with the people of Bihar to promote sustainable development through tree planting. This is being done to not only create green cover in the state but also to improve the quality of the air, water, and land. The DFFCC has been the sole implementing agency for the National Programme for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (NPFCSD) in the state. The NPFCSD aims to reduce the impact of climate change on natural resources, and to protect biodiversity and natural heritage.
We have been actively involved in promoting sustainable development in the state through tree planting. The primary objective of the NPFCSD is to reduce the impact of climate change on the natural resources of the state. To achieve this, we have to ensure that the people of Bihar are aware of the need to protect the environment. We have to create an enabling environment where the people can feel confident about the DFFCC and the benefits that they will reap. The people of Bihar need the green cover. It not only helps in reducing pollution but also helps in improving the quality of the air, water, and land. It is one of the best ways to combat climate change.
