An adventure in search of barn treasure

Barn Finders is a premium simulation game for PC developed by Duality Games. In this point-and-click adventure, players travel to various abandoned barns and storage units to look for items and potential treasures that they can sell in their family pawnshop business.

From the same developer that made the unique car crash simulator, Accident, comes another release in the form of Barn Finders. This time around, the game revolves around the concept of treasure hunting and making a profit by cleaning, repairing, and selling valuable items.

What’s it all about?

Barn Finders is a point-and-click adventure sim that has you living out your dreams of becoming a modern-day treasure hunter. You run your family’s pawnshop business, and you have to bring in some money by selling interesting and worthwhile items. To achieve this, you will go about searching for abandoned barns and storage units looking for any hidden gems that you could make a profit out of.

You are not alone in this pursuit, though, as you’ll also encounter fellow hunters along the way. Thus begins a bidding war for the rights to the properties that you will discover across Barn Finder’s 12 unique locations. That is only half the battle as you also need to clean and make any necessary repairs to the hundreds of items you’ll find to make them more enticing to your customers.

Over time, your pawnshop will also need upgrades like wallpapers, flooring, and more shelves to make it look more presentable and welcoming to your visitors. The whole experience is bogged down by poor performance, unfortunately. It’s ridden with various game bugs and frequent framerate drops. It would be best to try the Demo first to see if it will run and work fine on your PC.

If Pawn Stars and American Pickers collided…

If you take Pawn Stars and American Pickers and put them together, Barn Finders will essentially be the result. It’s a game that melds the concept of treasure hunting and managing a business together to create a rather unique and realistic experience. While it’s not without its faults, its Demo version is worth trying out at the very least.
