Official PC port of a classic Baldur’s Gate game
Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II is a premium role-playing game developed by Black Isle Studios. It is the official PC port of the classic title of the same name released for consoles in 2004. It brings over the same fun and engaging hack and slash action gameplay.
Set in the same world as Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II picks up where Dark Alliance left off. There’s a roster of new heroes, each with their own unique class-based spells and abilities. It also carries over the two game modes available from the original.
Revival of a classic
Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II was one of the most popular RPGs when it first came out and was a proper sequel to Dark Alliance. Not only did it continue the story, but it also introduced five new heroes that boasted class-specific spells and abilities. You will venture through over 80 levels, and face a horde of different monsters and creatures, raging from hobgoblins, ghouls, golems, and even dragons.
The game also features a robust crafting system that lets you create magical weapons and armor to help strengthen your characters for the battles ahead. Add to that, the various hidden areas and hundreds of items to discover, as well as a few secret characters to encounter along the way, and this sequel has no shortage of content that it brings to the table.
You can opt to play it solo if you want a nice challenge. Alternatively, there’s a two-player co-op mode to make the journey more interesting and the battles more manageable. This PC port is essentially the exact same game as the original which will please long-time fans, and offer newcomers the most authentic experience possible going into it. Some might be disappointed by the lack of anything new though.
A nostalgic experience
If you’ve played the original back when it first came out and have been wanting to experience it again, now is your chance with the Baldur’s Game: Dark Alliance II PC port. It’s basically a one-to-one reproduction of the classic title. If this is your first foray into the series, you’re in for a fun and action-packed ride. Either way, this is great and is highly recommended.
