Free Up Space While Browsing With Auto Discard Tab

Auto Discard Tab is a free and open-source extension for Google Chrome. In order to enhance the overall performance of Chrome, Auto Discard Tab closes tabs when they have been inactive for a while, which saves memory and reduces the load of the browser.

A number of options are available to configure Auto Discard Tab:

A minimum or maximum number of inactive tabs that must be closed. Closing every tab in the current window. Closing all tabs without discarding any. Only closing tabs that are at least a certain number of days old. Only closing tabs that have not been open for at least a specified number of seconds.
