New Versions of ArcGIS Earth for iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile Platforms

The latest version of ArcGIS Earth is available on iOS, Android, and Windows mobile platforms. This native application is designed to offer a consistent user experience across desktop and mobile environments. Users can navigate through the map with a simple pinch and zoom gesture. The app also supports the Living Atlas of the World and local data. The new interface makes it easy to access the map with just a few taps. To learn more about ArcGIS Earth, please visit the Esri website.

New ArcGIS Earth version 1.1 includes several administration and authentication improvements. This new version no longer requires users to log into their Esri account. This means that users can access basic data visualization, measurement, and visual analysis without signing in. Signing in to the app gives you access to enhanced content and services, such as data that is protected by a password. While there’s nothing wrong with logging in to the app and viewing maps, it may be unsuitable for all purposes.

Another update to ArcGIS Earth includes support for time-enabled KML. When a user adds a time-enabled KML, a time slider appears. All three applications share the same KML engine, so you can use them to compare data. The desktop version of ArcGIS Pro supports KML 2.2.3. For more information, visit the ArcGIS Earth website.
