How Sweet is the New Android Software?
Android O Developer Preview is the beta version of Android O software through which Google wants to test out the new OS’ features and collect feedback from early adopters.
A Sneak Preview into the Future
Through such developer previews, Google wants to test out and also let the Android community what the new flavour of Android has in store. The search engine giant has come up with multiple Android O beta software in the past and with every iteration, there is something new brought to the table. Android O has quite a few new features and improvements such as bundled notifications, notification dots, revitalised quick settings panel, enhanced performance, bug fixes, etc. For instance, the media controls appearing in the notification shade would now adapt to the music album artwork’s colour.
Design Changes
With Android O Developer Preview, Google has made a few changes to the font. The lock screen clock is now a tad smaller and there are no ‘caps’ to the date. The battery percentage is now marginally bolder, with the time and carrier information getting more breathing space. System apps have received a more “material design” look, but that is not uniform across the board. In the toggles section above the notifications shade, a marginally less condensed font style has been applied to the date, making it a bit more legible now. And there is no card-like space between the notifications and toggles. Some toggles have got back their old design in this Android O Developer Preview, such as mobile data toggle.
