Save animals in this adventure game
After Us is an adventure game from developer Piccolo Studio. In this abstract realm, you’ll explore fascinating platforming habitats and locations. Your goal is to save the spirits of extinct creatures and species. Set in a post-human era, you’ll control Gaia, a representation of the Earth and its natural environment.
In After Us, you’ll learn the tragic endings of these animals and work to bring them back to life, all while avoiding the deadly Devourers that are in quest of any survivors. You are the only one who can save the world.
Gaia’s journey
During your adventures in After Us, it is up to you to track down all animal spirits and bring them back to Mother’s Ark. Gaia’s special abilities lets you clear the planet of the oil that poisons it, face the ravenous Devourers, and free souls who have been trapped. Her glide, jump, and dash powers will allow you to reach previously-inaccessible regions and escape perilous traps.
Throughout the course of playing this game, you will find yourself in a number of different locations and scenarios on several occasions. When you visit these regions, you will have the opportunity to witness the breathtaking view of nature, as well as the absolute devastation of the world—in which the only thing that is left is the remnants of an industrial society.
Behind the good story and visuals, is a gameplay that most likely will not include any kind of voice narration. This means that throughout your exploration, you’ll either be reading or guessing the story based on how the characters act. However, the game requires a controller in order to play. A keyboard and mouse are not supported, which is the only downside of the game.
Has its limitations
In After Us, you’ll make your way across a variety of environments, face new challenges, discover the devastation left behind by humans, and evade the dangerous Devourers. While it is limited to controllers only and there’s no option to switch to keyboard and mouse control, it is a recommended game if you’re into really good visuals, story, and breathtaking gameplay.
