Bring home the championship in Super Sidekicks
Super Sidekicks is a 1993 soccer game released by SNK for the Neo Geo arcade system and console. Players choose one of 12 playable teams and compete against the five others in their group in order to reach the SNK Cup semifinals and finals. In addition to single-player league mode, players can also compete head-to-head.
Simple arcade action
Super Sidekicks isn’t a soccer simulator, and the teams don’t really differ other than in their formations. Instead, the game concentrates on delivering fast-paced arcade sports action that requires quick thinking and precise movement. Soccer fans will find many differences between Super Sidekicks and the actual sport. Matches consist of a single period, penalties are rare, and all the players on your team are identical except for one exceptional “Ace” or star player. The control system is a simple two-button scheme, with one button for shooting and another for passing.
Simple but enjoyable
Players looking for a realistic soccer experience will find Super Sidekicks unsatisfying. It’s a streamlined experience focused on fast-playing action rather than realism. However, its simplicity makes it very accessible. This is especially apparent in the two-player mode, where each player can pick a team and start playing in just moments.
