Abacus Counting Frame: An Educational App for Learning to Count
Abacus Counting Frame is an educational app designed to help users learn how to count in a fun and interactive way. The app is available on Android and is free to download. Developed by Sylvain Saurel, the app offers users an opportunity to rediscover the ancient counting tool, Abacus, that was used in Europe, China, Japan, and Russia centuries before the adoption of the written Hindu-Arabic numeral system.
Abacus Counting Frame app offers users two categories of abacuses: those in base 10, which are well-known in Europe and Russia, and those in mixed base (5,2) or (4,1), which are mainly present in Asia (China, Japan, etc.). The app allows users to write numbers and discover their representation in the decimal system at the bottom of the screen. Users can also perform operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The app is suitable for all ages, and children will love rediscovering this old counting tool on their smartphones, while the older generation will remember their younger years with happiness.
