Alternative Windows Run-Dialog utility

Run-Command is a free utility tool for PC devices by developer SoftwareOK. This program serves as an alternative Windows utility, specifically, the operating system’s built-in run-dialog. This specific function of the OS is used to open programs with administrative rights enabled i.e. the “Run as Administrator” dialog.

There are plenty of utilities that are made to complement or enhance the native functions and features found in Windows like Bat To Exe Converter or GS Auto Clicker. Run-Command is one such program, and it aims to provide better usability to the often used but seldom noticed Run-Dialog.

How does Run-Command work?

If you’ve been a long-time Windows user, chances are, you know what the Run-Dialog is and at the very least, know what it is used for. It is a core OS function that helps with opening certain programs with admin rights enabled, such as the command terminal or the registry editor. Despite its utility, it’s one of those things that has not gotten much attention or improvement over the years.

This is where Run-Command comes in to serve as an alternative to the built-in Run-Dialog function, but with added features and more flexibility in terms of usability. It’s a lightweight and portable program that you can use right away after opening it. It features a Favorites menu wherein you can add programs that you often use for quick opening. Additionally, you run custom shortcuts to folders such as temporary files and others.

Lastly, Run-Command has support for the use of Shell Folder Commands, which are similar to custom shortcuts, but with a much wider scope of things that it can open. Despite its simplicity, there is quite a lot of functions that can be explored with this tool. As such, it comes with a slight learning curve, especially for beginners.

Run-Dialog 2.0

If you’re a Windows power user that often relies on the built-in Run-Dialog function, but always found it to be a bit lacking in versatility, then you should check out Run-Command. It essentially takes this core OS feature and improves upon it in practically every single aspect. Highly recommended.
