How to Use the WSL Manager File Manager on Windows

The WSL Manager software is a tool for running Linux distros on Windows without the need for a virtualization layer. The WSL manager uses localhost as its IP address and can be accessed by typing “https://localhost:1234” on a web browser. This application is available for Windows and Mac OSX, but you must install the Linux driver to run it. To use the WSL Manager, you must install the necessary drivers and install them on your PC.

To install WSL on your PC, you must install a distribution. The Linux distribution can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Then, you need to import the distribution using the tar file. The tar file can be either a local disk or a network drive. Alternatively, you can run the command wsl -import to import the distribution. The –version option lets you designate the WSL version.

The Linux distributions installed on your Windows system are listed in a list by state. Each distribution’s version and state is also shown in the list. The wsl –list command is available as wsl -l -v. There are additional options such as –all, –running, and –quiet. The latter shows only the names of the distributions. In addition, it supports the X11 graphics standard.
