Weather forecasts with wow factor
Bright Weather is a weather app for Android which pleasures your eyes as you check the forecast.
A window on the weather
This great looking app is simple to use and includes some interesting features, most notably the ability to take a photo through the app and have the weather forecast overlaid on top of the image. You can then share this image via messaging or social networks.
Support for notifications in Bright Weather is very good. You can add a live temperature icon to the Android notifications bar, and there are ‘Smart weather notifications’, which allow you to turn on alerts for weekend weather, or for when the temperature in the coming days in due to reach freezing point.
You can switch between Fahrenheit/Celsius and metric/imperial measurements in Bright Weather, and it’s possible to set the refresh interval of forecasts.
Sunny disposition
24-hour forecast graphs are clear to read in Bright Weather, and you can flick between these and the six-day outlook with a swipe. You can add multiple locations by geo-location or searching a place, and these then become selectable in the elegant drop-down at the top of the screen.
Slide across all the way to right and Bright Weather will give you general weather information about the location you’ve selected. It shows things like average temperature, record temperatures, and gives you a map of the area on which you can view detailed weather information. The radar doesn’t update live, however.
Great looking weather app
Bright Weather is one of the best looking weather apps for Android out there. It’s weather data isn’t as in-depth as Yahoo Weather, and the widgets aren’t great, but it’s still worth trying out, especially for the fun photo overlay feature.
