Streamkeys: Global Hotkeys for Online Music Players

Streamkeys is a free Chrome extension developed by Alex Gabriel that provides global hotkey support for online music players. With this extension, users can control the basic features of their favorite media players using convenient keyboard shortcuts.

By pressing a hotkey, users can trigger actions in the media player’s tab. Streamkeys comes with four default hotkeys for common actions: Play/Pause (media key play/pause), Play Next (media key next), Play Previous (media key previous), and Mute (Ctrl + Shift + 2). These actions can be easily customized to suit the user’s preferences.

In addition to the default hotkeys, users have the option to bind hotkeys to other features such as Like, Dislike, and Stop. The hotkey settings can be accessed and modified through the Chrome extension tab. Simply click on the Settings icon (three horizontal lines on the top right of the browser), go to Tools, then Extensions, and finally Keyboard shortcuts (link at the bottom of the page).
