Warcraft game mod for Medieval II
Warcraft: Total War mod is a free game utility for PC made by indie developer Warcraft Total War Development Group. It is a mod for the Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms that transforms the setting and experience into the Warcraft 3 era and all its iconic map locations, factions, and characters.
Just like The Last Kingdom (M2TW) Mod, Warcraft: Total War mod provides fans with some new content on top of the base Total War experience. Where the former takes inspiration from Viking mythology and culture, it takes cues from the widely popular Warcraft series of strategy games.
Into Azeroth
The Warcraft series is one of the most prolific and influential strategy games ever owing to its dynamic gameplay, rich lore, and expansive world-building. Speaking of worlds, Azeroth is a location that a lot of gamers know and love. If you’re an avid player of Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms, you now have the chance to experience the icon map for yourself with Warcraft: Total War mod.
Think of this mod as an attempt to bring the Warcraft 3 era using the Medieval II: Total War engine. There are a total of 22 factions that are planned to be included in the main campaign, with two already playable at a certain level. The game also draws from 10 religions that proliferate the world for Azeroth to help build unique portraits of characters.
Along with that comes the various heroes and units unique to each race, complete with their respective abilities and magic that you can use in the campaign. Before giving this mod a try, just be aware that it is still in active development, and there is a lot more work that needs to be done to fix issues, add more content, and polish the overall experience.
Waging war throughout Azeroth
