DontPhishMe – Protect Malaysians From Online Banking Phishing Websites

DontPhishMe is a helpful extension for Malaysian internet browsers to protect them from websites that attempts to spoof or trick them into disclosing personal information, under false pretenses.

This add-on includes several features that protect the user from online banking phishing websites. The first feature is the pattern detection. The second feature is the blocking. And the last feature is the false positive.

This add-on utilizes the pattern matching feature in Mozilla Firefox, to protect users against online banking phishing websites.

Pattern detection

Pattern matching is a technique that detects if a web page is malicious or not. It looks for a specific pattern on the page, and detects if it matches. It takes into account both the URL and the content of the web page.

The algorithm checks the URL of the website you are visiting and the pattern it matches, to determine if it’s a phishing website or not.

This feature works when you are browsing the internet, so it’s useful for both desktop and mobile browser.

And for every phishing website that matches our pattern, a notification will appear in your browser and you can choose to either go to the website, or to ignore it.
