The Fading Embers is the third story in the This War of Mine series. Anja is a brave and caring person, but she is also burdened by the legacy of her ancestors.

In Fading Embers, Anja finds herself in a warzone. The new story is told through a series of diary entries and gives the player the chance to witness the most beautiful sights of the war.

The new story is not only about survival, but also about the importance of human life and the meaning of life. In the story, we see Anja struggling to answer the question of what is more important – survival of human life or the survival of a man.
