Physics-based platforming game

Bound Up & Squirming! is an action video game developed by Stegersaurus Software. It is a 3D platforming game that will have players explore a surreal and dreamlike world. The catch, however, is that they are bound up in a hospital gown, and the map is a big obstacle course.

At its core, Bound Up & Squirming! is a physics game where you will hop your way through a wide variety of levels. You are free to move however you want despite being bound. You can roll and even bounce. You can even use parkour to cover more ground.

Hop around!

Bound Up & Squirming! is a physics-based 3D platforming game. As mentioned, you play a character bound inside a hospital gown. The mechanics are simple. You basically hop around the obstacle course-like map to complete the level. To do so, you hold the jump button down to attach yourself to the surface of the various platforms and use that to fling yourself.

Outside of that, there are no other gameplay elements. You can use parkour and precision jumps to bring some complexity to the game. There are also 50 campaign levels and over 50 bonuses to test your skills. As you play along, you can unlock fashionable hospital gowns. Of course, you can also compete with your friends on the leaderboards. There is no option for a multiplayer race though.

The game has a colorful 3D art style with smooth and funny animations. The character’s design is also greatly animated and shows funny reactions when he rams his head to the surfaces. Unfortunately, the backgrounds look quite bland compared to the character’s design. The pillars are funny-looking, each having a smiling face. However, the expressions lack variety as you play longer.

Simple yet fun

Overall, Bound Up & Squirming! is a fun game if you are into physics games. It has easy-to-grasp mechanics and simple controls. The design for both characters and platforms is non-traditional but still pleasant to the eyes. However, the game can be frustrating at times since the level of difficulty spikes up just as you thought you got the hang of the gameplay.
