Spiritfarer is now on mobile

Spiritfarer Netflix Edition is a free-to-download simulation title for mobile being offered by Netflix Inc. It is the official mobile port of the popular management game Spiritfarer, which was first released on PC. In it, players take on the role of a masterfarer who guides the souls of the dead into the afterlife.

Just like the original Spiritfarer game for PC, Spiritfarer Netflix Edition makes it possible for players to experience a touching story-driven adventure that explores the concept of life and death through the stories of the deceased and ultimately how to deal with saying goodbye to loved ones.

A different way to play

Netflix is the de facto online video streaming platform today and helped redefine how people consume content by making it accessible to pretty much anyone. It took everyone by surprise when it diversified and added games to its list of offerings for its subscribers. As of this writing, it has over 20 titles to choose from, and Spiritfarer Netflix Edition is one of its most recent releases.

This edition is basically a mobile port of one of the most popular sim games in recent years. In it, you play as Stella, a ferry master who guides souls of the dead to the afterlife. Build and upgrade your ferry boat, meet a whole cast of interesting characters, and engage in various activities to entertain your passengers before releasing them into the great beyond.

Aside from the optimizations made for touch control, the experience is virtually the same as its PC counterpart, which is both a good and bad thing, since there is nothing new to expect for returning fans. Also, it should go without saying that you will need to have an existing Netflix account or subscribe to a plan to be able to play it on your device.

Still one of the best

Whether you’re new to the game or a returning fan looking to experience it all over again, Spiritfarer Netflix Edition is a great addition to Netflix’s game portfolio and arguably more accessible due to its mobile nature. If you need a break from all the binging, this game will be a nice change of pace and well worth playing. Highly recommended.
