A special version of The Sims for children

MySims is a special adaptation of the original Sims game to play on Nintendo consoles (DS and Wii), which was later on ported to the PC as well. Being primarily a game aimed at children, MySims has a few important differences in comparison with The Sims. First of all, characters are now designed in a much more cartoonish style, with shorter bodies and big heads. Also, the game only lets you manage one sim – no families, no romantic interests. The first thing you need to do in MySims, like in any other Sims game, is to create your character. Then the story begins with you arriving to a town and meeting the mayor, Rosalyn P. Marshall. She asks you to help her bring the town back to life by building new objects and new houses for the town’s inhabitants.

The building editor in MySims is really simple – nothing like the original one in The Sims – and the blocks you use to build houses are very similar to Lego. As you progress through the story in MySims, you’ll see more people moving to town and you’ll unlock more blueprints to keep on building more advanced structures.

Another important element to take into account in MySims are the so called essences. They can be found in many different places and are used for several purposes: painting walls, building items, decorating furniture, etc. There’s a different type of essence for each one of the six sim types you find on MySims: fun, geeky, cute, studious, tasty and spooky.

MySims is a special version of The Sims for children, and maybe also for people who have never played The Sims before and want to have a first gentle contact with the game.
