Premium F1 simulation management game

F1 Manager 2023 is a full-version simulation game created and published by Frontier Developments, PLC. An official product of the FIA Formula One World Championship, this sports management game lets players experience being at the helm of an F1 racing team. It succeeds the well-received F1 Manager 2022.

Compared to the previous title, F1 Manager 2023 brings depth to the otherwise familiar and straightforward gameplay. It introduces a brand-new game mode, improved management systems, and bolder visuals. Significant changes in various areas, such as driver confidence, tactics, and tire temperature, add up to a more realistic simulation.

Improved and more dynamic

Getting yourself behind the wheel of an F1 car is in itself a rewarding experience, but managing an entire racing team to compete in the championship is another thing. In F1 Manager 2023, you can take on the role of a team principal who is in charge of the nitty gritty of a simulated championship race. From the preparation to the race proper itself, every decision you make matters.

If F1 Manager 2022 concentrates on a detailed career mode, this iteration seeks to bring you to the forefront of everything. It features a new mode called Race Replay that enables you to rerun crucial moments during the race. Plus, managing your team has never been easier. For the first time, you can hire an experienced Sporting Director who can help you with the training and recruitment.

Aside from the additional cars, drivers, and circuits, the title features enhanced and more dynamic graphics. The broadcast-style visuals and the new camera view provide an intense atmosphere similar to a real match. Finally, the notable developments in driver confidence, tactics, and tire temperature allow a more intricate decision-making process. As with the former installments though, the game is not suitable for beginners.

Additional enhancements

The gameplay of F1 Manager 2023 has undergone some fine-tuning to give you the best possible experience. A reworked attribute progression with a new development focus and driver regression promises a more nuanced driver development as you deal with budding or seasoned racers. The release also offers an option that lets you switch teams based on your rating as a team principal.

In terms of the facilities, the rebalancing of facility effects is noteworthy. From car development facilities to operation facilities, the improvements in each area allow the smooth sailing management of resources. Plus, Qatar and Las Vegas tracks are introduced to the game’s growing roster of race venues. A deluxe edition is available for solid fans who want to take on twelve additional challenges in the Exclusive Scenarios Pack.

Second installment’s new features

Frontier Developments is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of the game’s second installment. Building from the feedback of devoted fans, the game introduces significant enhancements to ensure an even more enjoyable and engaging gaming experience. One of these changes is the addition of two new sub-features in the Race Replay mode—Starting Grid and Race Moments—to give room for more flexibility in terms of gameplay.

In the Starting Grid mode, players are granted full control over any team participating in a specific race from the 2023 season. Through strategic decision-making regarding driving styles, tactics, and overall team management, players have the opportunity to improve their outcomes on the track and showcase their managerial prowess. On the other hand, Race Moments thrusts players into critical team-based scenarios that are taken directly from real races in the 2023 season.

To help players fully understand and refine their skills, a tutorial guide has been included. This ensures that individuals of all proficiency levels can easily immerse themselves in the dynamic world of F1 Manager 2023. Furthermore, this installment will put greater emphasis on the impact of management decisions on driver performance, providing players complete control over their drivers’ setups and strategies, which intensifies the game’s realism.

What’s new?

After receiving several reports from players, F1 Manager 2023 rolls out update 1.5 to resolve unexpected crash issues. Race weekend can now go on smoothly after a potential problem is detected and fixed. DX11 is made available as a stable fallback option every time a DX12 crash comes up. Patch notes that pop up out of nowhere can no longer get on your nerves.

Some problems under current investigation include team objective balance, frequent collisions with static cars, race start balancing, inefficient Automatic Mode for the fastest laps, unfair penalties, and faulty widescreen user interface option. Though the issues raised may seem minor, players who take each race seriously know how even a slight kink could affect their performance. The release continues to welcome feedback to help improve the gameplay experience.

Where management meets strategy

What makes F1 Manager 2023 stand out from the previous titles is its successful attempt to improve on the career layers. In this simulator, players are granted more freedom to strategize on top of their normal management responsibilities. The Race Replay mode allows you to set the race on your terms, while the option to delegate tasks to a Sporting Director lets you focus on devising effective strategies.
