Experience the South Louisiana farming life

SouthLouisiana is a free-to-use game mod for Farming Simulator 22 (FS22). In this simulation add-on from the Louisiana Mapping team, you get to enjoy a realistic map that captures that Deep South feel. You also get to farm crops similar to the base game, although this one focuses on farming rice and potatoes. Plant, take care of animals, and reap the benefits of your hard work.

Since FS22 is known for its extensive modding community, SouthLouisiana makes for a great addition to any mod library. Other alternatives include Follow Me – FS22 Mod or Frontier MS1243 – Farming Simulator 22 Mod.

Your own Deep South farm

As with any FS22 mod, SouthLouisiana lets you experience all aspects of farming life–from planting crops to tending to farm animals. In this add-on, however, you get a wide piece of land to own and cultivate. For non-fans of the franchise, it might come across as just another generic map although players of the farming simulator will appreciate the all-new ambiance that the maps bring.

Aside from your own farm, the game also features a small community you can interact with. One particular feature is the butcher shop where you can bring your animals for slaughter and recover them as portioned and cut meats. However, there’s a minor glitch where the butcher and other shops do not appear on the map.  It is also accompanied by minor model and animation glitches that slightly affect gameplay.

The game also has a few compatibility issues as players report the app not running properly on their FS22, although you can use other mods or use a version switcher to help you. Compatibility problems range from the mod not entirely loading or minor issues such as placing in-game items like buildings and fences. There’s also quite a problem with the feeding mechanic.

An underdeveloped mod

If you’re an existing FS22 player, then SouthLouisiana is worth a try. It features an all-new map that might even be familiar to some players, plus new buildings and technologies that show the focus of the mod. Unfortunately, the game suffers from a number of issues ranging from an incomplete map to the feeding mechanic for animals. The stage is good but the mechanics mostly need some work to do.
