Chucky is a free survival horror game developed by darkaory. In this first-person strategy game, you play as an individual trapped in a house with Chucky the killer doll. You have to survive and ultimately destroy the cursed doll that killed your parents.
Reminiscent of games like Granny or Slenderman, Chucky is a perfect fit for horror game fans. You also have to complete puzzles and collect items in order to advance, unlock new places, and gain advantages in your fight for survival against the doll. Of course, you can’t do your tasks in peace, with the doll running around.
Bring the classic horror franchise to life
Chucky is the antagonist of the Child’s Play film franchise. He was once a serial killer who transferred his soul into a doll. Right off the bat, you see him in his now-iconic Good Guy doll box, with great character design making the game more exciting. Once you start, a sharp scream pierces the silence and you find yourself waking up in the middle of an abandoned house.
At the start, the killer doll is still sitting lifelessly at various parts of the house, giving a jumpscare as he suddenly appears from one place to another. Once the creepy doll starts hunting you, knife in hand, that’s when the entire experience starts to become both fun and scary. You have to complete a variety of engaging tasks as he chases you around.
Casual gamers beware since even at its “Normal” difficulty, the game is hard to beat. You have to calculate your every move and make sure he doesn’t catch up with you. Also, since most walkways are narrow, you can’t jump over the doll or kick it, leaving you with no choice but to take damage or find another way.
Destroy the doll, or die trying
Chucky is a fitting game adaptation to the popular slasher movie franchise. Even though it’s a small doll chasing you, you can definitely feel the fear and the pressure as he relentlessly approaches you. There are a few gameplay limitations such as being trapped in narrow hallways or the lack of other movement options. However, this is a good horror game that will have you trying over and over again.
