Free-to-play car drifting sim

Drift Hunters is a free-to-play racing game from Ilya Kaminetsky. This is a drifting simulator that lets you take control of different cars over different settings—from racing tracks to country roadsides. More than speed, this game will test your timing and control as you find the perfect drift angle and avoid crashing your car onto the curb.

Its focus on drifting mechanics instead of pure racing makes Drift Hunters a refreshing car-themed game for their devices. However, it’s not visually comparable to games like Asphalt 5 or Need for Speed Most Wanted, it’s still a decent game.

Experience driving different cars

The main challenge for Drift Hunters is that it offers a good balance between speed and control. It focuses less on racing and more on drifting. The game even offers a number of game modes to let you enjoy. There are wide spaces for you to practice burnout runs or narrow, curving roads for your perfect timing. As you land drifting tricks, you earn points for unlocking additional content.

It uses simpler graphics—often seen as a turnoff for car enthusiasts— but still the developers managed to keep the game engaging and interesting. It has 25 impressive drift cars for you to unlock and choose from. There are 10 different tracks available. Additionally, it has impressive drift physics players will definitely enjoy. You can even leave behind skid marks as you drift.

Also, for immersion, it completes the experience on your mobile device with a full heads-up display. There’s a gear indicator, an accelerometer, and even large buttons for brake and acceleration. You can even opt to switch between varying camera angles. Still, the game isn’t free from bugs and glitches. There are minor display problems, although it doesn’t really affect the gameplay experience.

A rare drifting game

As a racing sim focused on drifting, Drift Hunters does a good job of catering to both old and new fans of drift culture. What it lacks in the level of detail, it makes up for in its commitment to the drifting mechanics. The stages vary to accommodate different skill levels and drifting preferences. There are also different cars to choose from for a varied gameplay experience.
