Long-awaited new Path of Exile game

Path of Exile 2 is a free-to-play action game from developer Grinding Gear Games. It’s the highly-anticipated follow-up to the massively popular MMO ARPG, Path of Exile. It retains much of the same core gameplay of its predecessor but will introduce a new revamped skill system with new subclasses.

Building upon the first Path of Exile game, the new Path of Exile 2 will feature a new storyline arc that seamlessly intertwines with the main narrative. Fans and newcomers eager to play this new chapter of the series can look forward to it when it releases sometime in 2024.

Hot on the heels

When talking about Diablo, one cannot go without at least mentioning one of the best games it inspired, Path of Exile. This ‘Diablo-like’ title takes gameplay and design cues from the classic series in more than one way while improving upon some others. So, it’s by no mere coincidence that Path of Exile 2, was making rounds on the internet just as Diablo 4 was slowly creating buzz.

Despite its name, the game is not a sequel but more of an elaborate DLC on top of the main campaign, with its seven-arc storyline set 20 years after the events of the first game. The core combat is similar, which is to say, incredibly varied and adaptable, now with a reworked passive skills tree, improved gem-socketing system, and 19 new ascendancy classes.

Aside from that and some recent gameplay trailers, though, there’s not much information available for the game. The same goes for the lack of any specific release date. As of this writing, there are only a couple of weeks left before ExileCon. Here’s to hoping more news and announcement become available by then so fans can get more glimpses of this highly anticipated release.

Much to look forward to

With Diablo 4 in full swing, it was only a matter of time before Path of Exile 2 made its presence known. Fans rejoice. While it’s not exactly the sequel that fans were hoping for, there are still plenty of fun things to expect from it. Keep this on your radar and keep your eyes peeled as its release draws closer.
