A very basic PDF viewer
Adobe Reader for Windows 8 is a basic PDF reader for Windows 8 and Windows RT.
If you’re looking for a simple way to view PDFs in Windows 8 or Windows RT, Adobe Reader for Windows 8 fits the bill nicely. The app is extremely lightweight and very basic. The main window shows options to open a file, read the “Getting Started” PDF, visit the support forum, and to try out EchoSign of the full featured Adobe Acrobat program.
PDFs opened without any problems and Adobe Reader for Windows 8 was even able to open PDFs from other installed apps like Dropbox for Windows 8. There is a history of your recently viewed PDFs on the main page as well. The history can be cleared easily.
Those looking for the ability to make edits and annotations to PDFs will have to look further than Adobe Reader for Windows 8. Windows 8 users should check out the desktop version of Adobe Acrobat for a more full featured and can zoom in and out, unlike Adobe Reader for Windows 8.
Overall, Adobe Reader for Windows 8 is a simple and easy to use way to open up PDFs in Windows 8 and Windows RT but it’s lacking many basic features.
