"I know the plans I have for you" ( Jeremiah 29:11)
The word "plans" here refers to God’s plan for the whole human race. This is an important concept in the Bible.
In the book of Genesis, God created the world and then gave to each of the different races their own specific plan and mission. This plan included the creation of the Jews, who were to be a special tribe and were to be the messengers of God to the other nations. The first plan did not work out well, and the whole human race was cursed and thrown into sin. But God never gave up on his plan and repeated attempts failed.
In the book of Isaiah, the Lord tells the Jews that he will send his messengers to the other nations to bring them back to the path of God. This is exactly what the prophet Isaiah did.
In the book of Jeremiah, the Lord tells the Jews that he will send his messengers to the other nations to get them to turn back to him. This is what the prophet Jeremiah did.
In the book of Lamentations, the Jews are again told by the Lord that he will send his messengers to the other nations to get them to turn back to him.
If you're feeling anxious or unsure about what God is going to do, read the book of Lamentations. It will help you to feel comforted and it will also give you more insight into what the Lord is trying to teach you.
