What is the Tertiary Students Wing of the National Democratic Congress?
It is the experimentation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) university students network which later became the Tertiary students wing of the NDC. It was founded at the Christian Association in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region in 1992. It was named TERTIA, which means “third party” in Latin, because the NDC was not at the time a political party, but a group of individuals who were committed to promoting the cause of a democratic and secular society in Ghana. The Tertia group was made up of scholars, activists and political figures.
