Welcome to Hawkins

Stranger Things is an American science-fiction horror web television series released on Netflix. It tells the story of the fictional rural town of Hawkins, Indiana, during the early 1980s. The first season was about the disappearance of a young boy named Will Byers and the investigation of his family and friends into the case—not realizing that the local Hawkins National Laboratory has been conducting secret paranormal experiments that led to his abduction. The second season has young Will finally rescued, but he still suffers from trauma and ongoing supernatural happenings at the town. The laboratory had inadvertently created a portal to an alternate dimension called “The Upside Down” from all of their experimenting, and the longer the story goes on, the more calamities befall the residents of Hawkins. The grim revelation of the existence of the laboratory’s human test subjects is also a central part of the story—main character Eleven, the mysterious psychic girl Will’s friends had met, highlighting that side in the plot. Interestingly, half of the story also tells about the dynamics of human drama and the confusing stage of growing up.

How We Do It In 1985

The series has received 31 Emmy Award nominations, including for Outstanding Drama Series, and four Golden Globe Award nominations, and it won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2016. There are already a ton of promotional material for Season 3—not to mention a number of video games made for it—but this time, it has also released an official and unique exclusive content app to tide fans over while waiting. The mechanics of Stranger Antenna is similar to how television was watched in the 80s. You need a metallic object or a magnetic field to be able to get rid of the static screen when you first boot the app, then you can start tuning in to the available content. New videos of hints and teasers are updated every day for the upcoming seasons, so Stranger Things fans don’t have to wait so long for any news on the series’ development.

Always with the Story

This is a cool way of storytelling for a show set in the 1980s. Not only does it provide you with exclusives on the next season—including unreleased scenes and more—but it also brings you even closer to the world of the story and sufficiently satisfies your curiosity for the day while the next season isn’t out yet. If you’re a fan of the series, you can’t skip out on this.
