Free, User-Friendly Software Package for Poster Design

Poster Designer, previously known as Poster Forge, is a ‘freemium’ software application, developed by RonyaSoft, which allows users to quickly and easily create professional quality posters. The package makes heavy use of templates and is primarily aimed at those who do not have significant experience with graphic design software. The free version supports unlimited poster creation, but does add a watermark to each design.

Fast, Simple and Powerful

While Poster Designer places a great deal of emphasis on being user-friendly and the developer promotes the software by stating that posters, banners and signs can be made “in just a few minutes,” the application is also surprisingly powerful. It includes support for object rotation, transparency adjustment, shadow and gradient effects, and allows text and images to be pasted from other applications. Moreover, in addition to the core image formats, such as .JPG and .PNG, poster designs can also be exported as .PDF files.

Hundreds of Templates

Poster Designer provides users with hundreds of templates, allowing for the simple creation of everything from caution signs and motivational posters, to infographics, business posters and event posters. In addition, starting templates can be bypassed for a blank page. In many ways, the closest comparison to Poster Designer would be Microsoft Publisher, rather than Adobe Photoshop, and although it is not as powerful as Microsoft’s offering, it is significantly cheaper and easier to use.
