Pretty Colours

Sometimes you don’t want an involved story or in depth game play. Sometimes you just want to give your senses a veritable buffet of light and colour and sound. Chroma Lab is for those times.

An Experience

While there are things you can do to affect the virtual reality world around you in Chroma Lab, it is most definitely not a game in the traditional sense. Described as a “VR particle physics sandbox”, Chroma Lab allows you create—and more importantly, experience—a world of lights and colours in mesmerising fluidity. What that means, essentially, is that you have thousands of little coloured dots around you and you can affect what they do, how they interact, and watch the mayhem unfold as they fly all around you. You have a number of different tools to mess with your particles. You can save and load your settings, turn gravity on or off, and more. The particles can even react to your music; any external music player will do the trick.

Fun For the Novelty Factor

There’s not a lot to do in Chroma Lab once the initial novelty has worn off. The experience can be quite relaxing, so it made have some longevity as a kind of meditation aid. Other than that, there’s not much to come back to.
