Create and torture ragdoll characters
Ragdoll Playground is a free game with the simple premise of adding characters to a playing field and proceeding to torture and mutilate them. The cartoonish, pixelated graphics ensure that the brutality is more comical than nasty. This may be a game to keep away from younger children, as it is intended for those with a twisted sense of humor.
The game uses the same sort of ragdoll physics seen in titles like Ragdoll Masters and Human: Fall Flat. The characters are prone to flopping and wobbling with every impact, resulting in a lot of slapstick humor once the fighting begins.
Make the ragdolls fight
Ragdoll Playground begins with the player first choosing a map and then choosing a ragdoll character. Three are available: Tomato, Plastic Man and Robocom, and multiple versions of each ragdoll can be added at once. From here, you can use an elaborate menu system to make them inflict violence on each other in a range of comical ways.
Menu-controlled ragdolls
When a ragdoll has been selected, you can assign it various different actions from the menu. You can flip it, resize it, make it sit down, freeze it, or make it attack the ragdoll in front. When you have decided to make the dolls fight each other, you can give them weapons, which are chosen from another menu.
Swords, guns, and acid syringes
The weapons line-up is where Ragdoll playground goes all-out with its twisted sense of humor. There are four types of weapons: stabbing (swords, spiked clubs, etc.), firearms, explosives, and even chemicals (acid syringes, zombie syringes, etc.). Clothes, vehicles, and other props are also available.
Fiddly menus
Ragdoll Playground suffers from a fiddly menu system. Creating characters and objects is easy, but getting them to interact is tricky. The game might take more time to learn than is desirable for a challenge-free app like this.
