Single-player psychological horror role-playing game

Adam: Lost Memories is a single-player RPG that draws on personal memories of child abuse. Players will have to take on a role of a character who suffers from panic attacks and other types of mental illnesses. Though there are relatively few enemies to encounter, it offers various interesting and challenging puzzles to solve.

In regard to a heavy focus on environmental exploration, the gameplay associated with Adam: Lost Memories can be compared to other bundles, such as Amnesia. While not a “horror” game as far as jumpscares are concerned, there is still plenty of suspense to be encountered.

Extremely detailed environments

While staying true to contemporary first-person role-playing games, the environments to be encountered throughout Adam: Lost Memories are incredibly realistic and detailed. They offer a haunting overall ambiance, and yet, they are still capable of reflecting the inner emotions of the character.

Numerous puzzles to solve

While a fair amount of time is devoted to exploring unfamiliar environments, players will also have to gather resources and solve a series of puzzles if they hope to unlock additional levels. Some puzzles are much more difficult than others.

Personalized character control

The open-world nature of Adam: Lost Memories is further reinforced by the ability to fully control the actions that the character decides to take. This is even possible during occasional cutscenes.

A journey into the mind of the abused

The developer states that many of the scenes throughout Adam: Lost Memories have been based upon his own experiences of abuse as a child. Still, its similarity to other bundles within the horror genre, such as The Forest, will appeal to the average player without requiring an immersive backstory.
