Get rid of Office 2007’s ribbon toolbar
Some people love the thrill of a new operating system and all the new changes it brings, but others like things the way they were and dread having to get to grips with new features.
If you have Office 2007 on your computer but are longing for a more old-fashioned layout, try Classic Menu Manager. This simple plug-in works on all the programs included in Office, from Word, Access and Excel, to PowerPoint and Outlook. Classic Menu Manager is active immediately, so as soon as you have installed it you’ll notice that all of the menus have changed from the standard ribbon style to something more familiar.
Each of Classic Menu Manager’s areas has a similar layout and range of configuration options. Apart from being able to show the Menu tab to the left of the home tab and include the All menu on the Menu tab on your documents, you can hide some of the built-in tab options that come as default in Office 2007. Obviously these tabs depend on what program you are using.
Classic Menu Manager is very easy to use and changes Office back to a more traditional layout with practically zero interaction. There are no other configuration options, or help files, but perhaps users who want a simpler Office experience won’t mind this.
If Office 2007’s ribbon style isn’t for you, check out Classic Menu Manager.
