A horror adventure game set in the mountains

Eerie Mountain is a free adventure game for PC by indie developer Korvinrular. It’s a first-person horror title wherein players will take on the role of a forest ranger investigating the sudden disappearance of a certain family while they were out exploring in the woods where they are stationed.

Just like Slide in the woods or The House In The Woods, Eerie Mountain takes place out in nature, with a dark and atmospheric presentation. Players will explore the mountain in search of clues and answer as to what fate befell the unsuspecting family that got lost and disappeared.

The eerie side of nature

Eerie Mountain is basically a first-person adventure that is a cross between a horror game and a walking simulator. It takes place in the titular mountain and will have you play as a forest ranger. One day, you get news that a family has mysteriously disappeared while exploring a nearby mountain range. Falling under your jurisdiction, it is now your task to investigate what happened.

You’ll start by hopping inside your car and driving down the mountainside. Cross a precarious footbridge to reach the mountain proper and start investigating armed with nothing more than a flashlight. You will explore a variety of environments as you go along. They range from misty and thick forest on the surface to deep caverns and intricately formed stone structures down below.

You slowly start to realize the mountain is hiding a dark and sinister secret, alluding to the occult, deep within its recesses. Now, if you’re interested in checking it out, just be aware that it’s a small game with an equally short playthrough. The specifics will depend on how you play and pace yourself. Nevertheless, you’ll be looking at a runtime clocking in at under half an hour long.

Stare into the abyss …

In conclusion, Eerie Mountain is a horror adventure with an intriguing story. The graphics look nice and the gameplay itself is simple, yet manages to keep you on your feet as you explore its dark and mysterious world. If you have some time to spare and are a fan of the genre, this simple and quick journey is worth experiencing. Recommended.
