Talal Maddah (العلاميه, Talal Al-Maddah; 21 November 1969 – 13 January 2020) was an Iraqi-born musician, singer, songwriter, and performer, who became well-known and popular in the Arab world.
He began his music career as a singer in the band Al-Mashary in 1996, and later joined the band Al-Anbaq. In 2000, he created his own band called Tarik Al-Wasat, which later became known as one of the best and most respected bands in the Arab world. In addition, he became known as a songwriter, writer, and composer, especially for songs that are based on the music of the late artist Talal Al-Maddah.
In addition, he became known for his role as a singer and actor in the films Al-Mussafah, Al-Mashary Al-Mussafah, Al-Mashary Al-Mussafah: Ombu, and Al-Mashary Al-Mussafah: Tawba. In addition, he also appeared in a number of television series and played in a number of music-based films. He died on 13 January 2020, at the age of 42, in Baghdad, Iraq, and he was buried on 22 January 2020 in a place called Najaf, in the province of Najaf, Iraq.
