Open-world survival game in space

The Planet Crafter is a premium adventure title that was created by developer Muji Games for PC. It’s an open-world survival game set in space and has players visit unknown worlds to terraform and make them livable for humans. Gather resources, survive harsh conditions, and build another home for mankind.

Like with ASTRONEER or No Man’s Sky, The Planet Crafter places great emphasis on exploration and survival in its core gameplay. Players will need to start from scratch, from the tools needed for collecting materials to the machines that will help build structures, all while staying alive.

How does the game start?

The Planet Crafter, as its name would suggest, is a game that will have you travel to new and unknown worlds to terraform and develop them for habitation. Not knowing what to expect, this is where survival elements come into play as you explore a vast open landscape in search of resources you will need to start building, while trying to survive its harsh and deadly conditions.

The first order of business will be to establish a starting point and base of operations. You will essentially build everything from scratch, including the tools you’ll need to create the machines that will help you move and place structural pieces around. Your end goal, heat up the planet, create an atmosphere with enough oxygen, and geo-engineer a habitat suitable for living creatures and humans.

As you explore and expand your reach, you’ll also get to discover crashed ships and other mysterious ruins that hold secrets and history about the planet. The Planet Crafter is shaping up to be an interesting space survival game. You will have to wait until its official release, though. Apart from a playable demo, there’s no exact date yet outside of a planned Q1 2022 target.

Build a new home for mankind

If you’re a fan of space exploration and simulation games, The Planet Crafter is an interesting title to check out once it officially releases. It mixes explorationsurvival, and some city-building-like elements into a single game, making for a unique experience overall. If you liked what you’ve read about it, give its demo a try to see if it’s your jam.
