Privacy vault app for mobile
HideX – Calculator Photo Vault is a free utility application for mobile devices offered by developer Ogly buen. It is a private photo vault app that lets users store and secure their media files in one place. It hides behind a simple calculator interface to prevent access from others.
Similar to apps like Gallery Vault – Hide Pictures or HideU: Calculator Lock, HideX – Calculator Photo Vault offers multiple security measures to prevent access with PIN and Pattern lock options. Users can also take advantage of it to lock apps and games from being seen and opened by others.
A vault in disguise
Lending your phone or tablet to a friend or family member can be nerve-racking sometimes as they can easily fool around and open things they’re not supposed to, like private media files or messages. This is why privacy vault apps became a thing. HideX – Calculator Photo Vault is one such example, and as its name suggests, takes the form of a seemingly simple calculator.
This app starts out as a simple calculator but behind it lies a private vault that you can unlock with a PIN or Lock Pattern. Once inside, you can immediately store media files that you don’t want anyone else to see and view. You can also add apps for messaging and such to it so no one will be able to open them.
If someone does manage to discover the vault and attempts to unlock it, there’s an option to set up an intruder alert feature of sorts and take a photo of the person in question. There have been numerous reports of users losing the contents of their vaults, though. Hopefully, this will be addressed as soon as possible in a future update.

All in all, if you’re looking for a way to safeguard private media on your device, HideX – Calculator Photo Vault is a decent choice to consider. It’s easy to use, supports both media and apps, and offers various extras like the intruder alert feature. Hopefully, the issues with lost data get fixed promptly but aside from that, this one is worth giving a try.
