A simple and clean-cut video editor

Video Cutter & Compressor is a free-to-use multimedia tool that—as the name suggests—is meant to help you edit your videos and even minimize their file sizes. This program from Mixilab can also be used to tweak your video’s brightness, aspect ratio, and audio, as well.

Video Cutter & Compressor offers a number of helpful tools that you can use to create your own mini-movies or short videos. However, compared to other programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut, this video editing software isn’t quite as extensive, so it’s much more ideal for minor edits.

Easy to use and user-friendly

With Video Cutter & Compressor, users can easily create their own homemade movies in a snap. This video editing tool allows you to adjust and trim clips as needed and instantly view them through the playback screen. You can opt to manually adjust clips or use some of the templates available to fit the optimized video lengths for social media sites like TikTok.

In addition to adjusting the length of clips, users can also maximize audio by up to 200 percent. You can also scale your video’s size and add a colored background for your videos. There’s also the option to blur the background for square videos for a more cohesive look. As previously mentioned, you can also tweak your video’s brightness, saturation, contrast, and exposure, as well.

Another notable feature of this program is the ability to convert videos when compressing them. However, while the software supports the input of different file types like MPEG, AVI, M4V, and MOV, you can only export your videos into either MP4 or WMV files after compressing them. There’s also a persistent issue where the app will freeze in the middle of exporting files, so you’ll have to restart the process.

Great for simple video editing

With numerous tools that allow you to adjust your video’s elements, Video Cutter & Compressor is a great option for beginners who want to try their hand at editing their own videos. You can easily resize your videos to fit various social media platforms’ time restrictions and aspect ratio requirements, as well. However, it’s important to keep in mind that you can only convert your video into two different formats.
