Resource management roguelike game

Alchemist is a free role-playing title created by an independent developer who is known as Spellweaver. It is a roguelike game with a focus on crafting and resource management. In it, players are given various tasks and challenges that they need to overcome by utilizing the resources available around them.

Similar to Kapital: Sparks of Revolution or Terra Nil, Alchemist is a game that features gameplay that combines both city-building mechanics with survival elements. Players will need to adapt to various changes and come up with the best ways to overcome obstacles and problems.

Laws of Alchemy

Survival base builders are a breed of hybrid games that offer unique and interesting gameplay. In them, you ultimately want to build and expand your territory while trying to be mindful of external factors and some unforeseen events that can affect or even endanger your entire progress. Alchemist is a game that operates somewhere along these lines, but has a fantasy setting and utilizes the concept of Alchemy.

Alchemist features an open and highly interactable environment with procedural areas and hand-drawn set pieces for you to explore and discover. You’ll face various challenges that require you to craft, refine, and extract necessary materials and ingredients. You do so following the laws of Alchemy that govern the physics and chemical reactions of everything around you—prepare to read a lot of books to learn techniques and recipes.

The things you will craft and concoct have a certain level of unpredictability and not every outcome will be as you intend. Loot in this game is a precious resource and nothing is useless. One thing to note is that it’s still in the early stages of development. Hence, crashes and various graphical glitches are par for the course and are already being worked on.

Create something out of nothing

Alchemist is a game with a surprising level of complexity and depth to it. Its crafting system offers virtually limitless possibilities, and every piece of loot you acquire can be of use as you overcome challenges. While it’s still rough in some places, it’s to be expected this early in its development. There is a lot of potential here already, though.
