Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is a remake of the critically acclaimed game of the same name that was first released in 2003. This iteration boasts a host of improvements while still embracing the original storyline.

This first-person game has been developed and reengineered by the team at Ubisoft. They are the same programmers associated with widely acclaimed bundles, such as the Assassin’s Creed series. Quality should, therefore, never be called into question.

The Dagger of Time

This game tells the story of a young prince who steals a powerful, ancient artifact known as the Dagger of Time. While the dagger is known for its ability to cause chaos, it can also be used as a means to defeat evil by traveling to different dimensions with its owner.

Manipulating the sands of time

In the event that the player is slain during a battle, they can reverse time by using a resource known as a “sand tank.” These tanks allow the user to travel back to before the incident. It is then possible to adopt different tactics in order to emerge victorious.

Simple character mechanics

One aspect that has allowed this Prince of Persia iteration to remain so popular involves its rather straightforward character mechanics. Even seemingly difficult movements can be performed easily, making this game ideal for those who do not wish to endure a steep learning curve.

Staying loyal to the franchise

Much like other variants, including Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, the developers of this remake chose to reflect all of the original elements associated with the 2003 version. Improved graphics, smoother mechanics, and an early-2000s “flavor” all serve to highlight what is in store.
