Gain access to IP camera feeds

IP Camera Viewer is an application developed by ipcamerastudio.com that allows you to view and watch a live video feed from different IP cameras. This is an excellent tool used for surveillance whether on your home, office or simply to monitor events happening outside your house.

Keeping an eye out

Before using the application, do not forget to have the IP address of the camera that you are planning to connect to. You will need to enter the IP address in order to successfully connect and see through that particular camera’s feed. When you start the program, you will be greeted by a simple interface containing only 2 tabs: Video and Help. The Video tab will be your main viewing screen while the Help tab contains instructions on how to view a video from a particular IP camera, otherwise, the application will show a random public IP camera feed upon launch. This is why I mentioned that you should know the IP address of the camera that you wish to access. To enter the IP address, you should visit the folder where IP Camera Viewer is installed and then right click on the “ipCamera.bat” file. Choose the “Edit” option and when a window appears, change “96.10.1.168” into your IP address and then chance “/mjpg/video.mjpg” to the camera’s MJPEG path. After you are done doing the changes, simply restart the application and you are good to go. You will now be able to view the feed from a specific IP camera upon opening IP Camera Viewer.

IP cameras vs CCTV cameras

Take note that there is a difference between IP cameras and CCTV cameras. As this is an IP camera viewer, this means that it will not be able to connect and show you footage caught on CCTV. When you say IP camera, these are cameras that are connected through a LAN network. That is why they can be accessed through their IP addresses and is necessary for this application. On the other hand, CCTV cameras are connected to a digital video recorder (DVR) through cables. They do not have an IP address to provide and therefore cannot be connected with IP Camera Viewer.

For surveillance

This application is good for monitoring places and keeping them under surveillance. As long as you have IP Camera Viewer, accessing IP cameras is easy and convenient. With just a few clicks, you can keep yourself updated with that is going on at home or outside, wherever IP cameras are located.

FREE IP Camera Viewer allows to connect to IP camera using MJPEG protocol and view the video stream.

FREE IP Camera Viewer is a simple and easy to use, but effective application for your home surveillance. It enables you to connect to any IP camera, that supports MJPEG streaming and view the video. The interface is pretty simple: video and help panes. Video pane displays the stream and help pane contains a brief list of instructions.
