A graphically-beautiful horse game
That Horse Game – Riding Demo is a free racing video game wherein you can build the equestrian facility of your dreams. Created by indie developers Mindev, Amon, and Jonna, this 3D simulation game is an online multiplayer title that allows you to build your own piece of land for a horse business and handle every aspect of running it.
Similar to Star Stable, That Horse Game – Riding Demo features in-depth gameplay mechanics regarding the equestrian world—playing just like a simulator game. As mentioned in the title, this is the demo version. Take note that the full version comes with a fee.
A rider’s dream
In That Horse Game – Riding Demo, you are both literally and figuratively given the reins to run a horse ranch. With this facility, you are able to breed and raise different types of horses, ride and train them, and even enter them in challenging competitions. The demo only encompasses a few of these gameplay elements—making you focus more on experiencing the horse care and riding aspect.
As far as what you can play with this version, not a lot is available but things still look pretty impressive. The 3D graphics alone are quite detailed and display a good amount of physics regarding character movement and weather phenomena. There’s character customization but for the demo, you’ll be using the default female model, which still has nice animations. The horse animations are nothing to scoff at either.
That being said, however, this small demo alone requires a high-spec PC to be able to run it without lagging. It can also show errors regarding certain programs you need installed, such as DirectX and Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. The game won’t automatically install these for you or even the latest update on the demo. To get them, you have to delete the old version and download the new one.
Needs a lot prepared
All in all, That Horse Game – Riding Demo is an interesting horse game for desktops. While the demo doesn’t offer all the gameplay mechanics you can expect, the core aspects of horse-riding alone are quite plentiful and have been executed almost accurately. However, don’t be too surprised if the game doesn’t run smoothly as it requires high specifications on your PC.
