Voicemod is a free audio program that enables you to modify your voice when talking to others. This voice modulator software allows real-time changes and offers various effects. It also functions as a soundboard that lets you play with audio effects, craft ready-to-use voice skins, and even modify the audio from existing media. It can integrate with streaming apps and is compatible with online games, as well. There are two versions available: Free Mode and PRO. It is also Windows 11 compatible. 

Versatile with other apps

Voicemod’s base features for both PC and mobile versions include real-time and live voice changing, more than 90 unique voice effects, and an easy-to-use interface. However, the desktop app includes more functionalities compared to mobile—most of them geared towards seamless integration with other programs like Stream Deck and Streamlabs OBS. It’s compatible with virtually all software that supports voice input as it creates a new virtual input device that your computer can use.

This means that it also works with online games like PUBG and Fortnite and VR games like VRChat and Second Life. The program is also highly compatible with voice chat programs like Discord, Skype, and other communication software you use with friends and family. Thus, one of its most popular uses outside of gaming is for ASMR videos and prank video calls.

Is Voicemod a good voice changer?

One cool advanced feature is the Meme Sound Machine, the soundboard function that lets you assign uploaded audio files to your hotkeys.

With it, you can freely customize your sound effects with MP3 and WAV files. The program has more than 90 preset voice skins and effects available, as well—such as the classic Chipmunk, Robot, and AutoTune—and allows further customization. The only downside to the free version is that it has a severely limited number of voices. You can only use six random voices that change daily—meaning that any favorite of yours will get replaced within 24 hours. Plus, there are only five slots in the Meme Sound Machine.

Limited as a free user

Voicemod is user-friendly for any third-party app you’d like to partner it with. It’s highly versatile and has room for more integrations compared to the mobile version. However, Voicemod PRO offers unlimited voice effects, more customization, and infinite slots on the soundboard so using the free version can be challenging if you’re trying to become a streamer who uses voice-changers a lot as your gimmick.
