HDFC ERGO’s Break-in Self Inspection Appli is a full-version Android app designed to assist vehicle owners in self-inspecting their vehicles before making an insurance claim. The inspection process is simple and easy to follow, with guidance provided at every step. Upon choosing the self-inspection option, an SMS with a reference number and an application download link is sent to the user. Once the app is opened, the user is automatically logged in, and they can use the ‘Engine & Chassis No Locator Guide’ to locate their vehicle’s engine and chassis numbers.
To start the inspection, the user must park the vehicle in an open area with ample sunlight and follow the guided instructions to record videos and take photos of the vehicle. After submitting the inspection, HDFC ERGO’s team processes it within an hour. If approved, the user can make the payment from the link received and get their policy issued. The app requires access to the camera and storage to capture photos and videos, location for timestamping with location over the image as a watermark, and microphone to capture audio along with the video recording.
